Networks are a way of organising. In the same way forming a company or a community group is a way of organising. Unlike hierarchical structures, networks distribute power and control. Working in networks requires different tools and techniques, skills and capabilities.
Working in networks may feel unfamiliar as it introduces ambiguity and uncertainty. Instead of relying on hierarchical control to create certainty, networks thrive on collective sensemaking – a collaborative process of understanding and interpreting information.
To enhance collective power, POP supports networks in Plymouth. The goal is to develop skills in building and strengthening networks, recognising their potential for collective impact.
